160,000 miles, timing belt never changed, if it breaks is this one that will cause engine damage?

Also, is this amazing or not? 160,000 miles in mild weathered Northern California so car has never been in any extremely cold weather for very long.

I drive locally only so just wondering if I can drive this until it breaks. I have roadside assistance so thinking when it breaks, I get something for my money.

Thank you for this forum!!!

welcome to the forum. recommemded timimg belt change is 90-112k. You are on borrowed time. (unless you have a chain driven timing) when the belt goes, so does the valves and pistons. you will end up with a major repair. or eng replacement. $$$$.00

Okay, will have it done this week. I just wasn't sure if I had the engine that was left with damage after a breakage. I thought they came up with a solution for that so wasn't sure if the solution was in time to make it to the 4-cyl VTEC.

Any good mechanic will check them when replacing the T-belt.
