1999 Accord Dies

RE: 1999 Accord Dies
Well acmech52, you're right there apparently other things that can cause the intermittent stalling. My wife had the problem occur again (even after the main relay replacement in June.) Dealer suspects ignition switch, however, they were not able to duplicate the problem and did not replace or repair anything yet. We are driving it with only the single car key in the ignition switch (no keyring or fob hanging on it).
There are recalls for ignition switch for Hondas and Accuras, but my VIN is not included in the switch recall except for one on the interlock. I'll keep you posted if we get a resolution.

After several months of no problem running, wife started to jiggle the key while idling - this would then cause the car to die. We took it to our local Honda dealer told them of our symptoms and they replaced the ignition switch approx $380. Previous Honda recalls for the ignition switches did not cover my VIN #.

Starting problems
I too have a 99 accord EX coupe. I bought the car in april of 09 and it ran great for about two months. Then one day it decided to die. Then it decided to not start at all. I noted the hot weather and replaced the distributer and the amin relay when that didn't work. Again, wouldn't start. Then, I decided to go out and pop the hood. I found that one of the spark plug wires was not thoroughly connected, Connected it and off I went. In July I was involved in an accident and the car was put on blocks until two weeks ago. During that time I religously went out and started the car and let it run for about twenty minutes at least once a week. Now the cars fixed and last night it started and died immediately. This morning, still not starting. I'm going to check the fuel pump next.
