Default 07 Accord dies overnight

I have a 2007 Accord 4 cyl. A couple weeks ago, I was getting gas, left the engine running, went in to pay and came back out to a hissing sound and white cloud coming out from under right front fender. I checked to see if the belt had broken, which it had not. Prior knowledge led me to think it was pressure building up on the compressor and it was freon being released. I went on about my day, parked the car at a friends house for a weekend trip and came back a couple days later to a dead battery. I jumped it off that Sunday, was fine all day, then it was dead the next morning. At this point I had taken it to check the battery and alternator at a couple places no problems were found. I went Monday to a mechanic and he found nothing wrong with either the battery or alternator. Tuesday it was dead again after a full day of driving on Monday, so I went and got a new battery though the one my car was only about 14 months old. I had replaced OEM battery in Dec. 2009.

With a new battery, my car cranked Wed. and Thursday. However on day 3(friday) the new battery was dead. Saturday dead again. And now the crazy part, on Sunday, the car started fine. On Monday too, it started fine. I had made arrangements at this point to have it checked by an auto electric specialist so I proceeded to take on Monday. They kept it and monitored for a couple days, but found no abnormalities draining the battery. Only 0.02 amps pulling while car wasn't cranked, mostly from alarm and radio memory. Suggestion was possibly a relay or some other electrical component that isn't 100% bad and only is causing intermittent problems.

The car was fine the rest of the week and over the weekend, but then yesterday it started again. I went to start it yesterday morning (3/15) only to find a dead battery once again. So I jumped it off and let it run a few minutes at which point the hissing and "smoke" release started again the same as when the problem began a couple weeks ago. Car ran fine all day otherwise, but as expected was dead this morning.

Other problems noticed, my air conditioning froze up once, since this problem. Line was frozen white under hood, I turned on high and could hear fan/blower running but no air coming out of vents. It has also done this with the heat running. Now, after hissing and smoke yesterday, even when a/c or heat are completely turned off, I can hear something still running that otherwise was not.

Sorry to be so long, but didn't want to leave out any symptoms. If anyone has had a similar problem please let me know, I am scratching my head with this and clueless as to what to do next. And just in case you may think I left a light on or something stupid like that, the answer is no, I checked all of that first and had not done so. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, well it looks like you have done all the right things and no help from the mechanic leaves you frustrated,I have to admit It stumps me,you might try and make sure your golve box is not over loaded keeping the door from closing and the light staying on,check under hood lights as well as trunk lights,My neighbor had a similar problem years ago with his Lexus,we traced it down to a parasitic load on the seat control module.Good luck,Bobby

Thanks Bobby, I will check the trunk light. I have check the glove box and it's not overloaded with junk. The goal of the auto electric place I went to was to trace a parasitic load, but unfortunately when I took it the problem had temporarily corrected and they couldn't trace as there was nothing drawing it down. Looks like now that it is acting up again I will be taking it back to have it checked again.

Default Problem found

Ok, so after a month and a half of this being a problem off and on, I finally was able to get a parasitic draw test performed while the battery drain was occurring. What was found was the relay for the AC compressor clutch was sticking and causing it to not turn off with the car. I also found that the radiator fan motor was no longer working on a seperate issue.
