Question 2009 Accord EXL 4cyl woes...

Hey Guys,

My daughters 2009 Accord EX-L 4cyl has 196K.
We purchased with 188K
It was a previous 1-owner, had all oil changes, regular maintenance at the local Honda Dealer, clean Carfax, I knew the 1st owner, immaculate...
yet about 6 months ago oil consumption galore, went into limp mode once...and now here is the current status:
1.Both keys are broken.
2. It is seemingly is back in limp mode (will not go faster than 40mph) and is showing Codes P0303(7/8) Pending Cylinder 3 Misfire & P0302 (6/8) Pending Cylinder 2 Misfire.
3. Other than the above...Car runs like adream! lol

I'm getting keys cut over the weekend, BUT where do I start on a diagnoses and repair?
Any ideas?
I'm lost as a goose in high wind!

Any positive feedback and counsel would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Reg

Default Update on 2009 Honda Accord EXL Woes

Hey Guys!

I had the car and cut a new key.
Here is what the mechanic shared;
After charging the battery other than the check engine light——No Codes are showing!🙄

Although he was able to read the code history via his diagnostic tools.

The cars oil level is okay, yet the major issue is a crazy screeching sound EVERY time you crank it up. The sound stops after it runs a a couple of minutes.

Mechanic states it needs a new timing chain and all parts connected to that repair and it also needs front wheel bearings.

Please chime in with your thoughts advise or suggestions…PLEASE!
Is this reasonable?
Car does have 216K and after it warms up, runs like freaking top!!

Any shortcuts?

Thanks in advance,

Reg

Here is the cost for everything:Good evening Mr. Turner,

The cost to replace the timing chain kit on the Honda Accord total cost is 2128.92 , I can probably cut some of the labor cost a few hundred dollars.
Like we discussed the wheel hub bearings is 605.00.
Total $2700 plus tax

Let me know your thoughts sir.
