Default 2017 Honda Accord Sport Special Edition highway handling question

I recently purchased a 2017 Honda Accord Sport Special Edition. The ride is somewhat jittery on the highway, something I didn’t notice during the test drive. I’m wondering if this is an inherent characteristic of this model, or if the tires need to be balanced or replaced (or something else).

Also, I’ve never had a car that is so noticeably buffetted by the wind on the highway. What the heck is going on? It doesn’t seem very safe. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

welcome to the forum, Honda off the assembly line does not align the wheels nor spin balance them, due to the car is under warranty, take it to the dealership first and see if they can fix it, document day and time and what speed you are driving the car to give them info you are not just imagining the buffeting car. They may find nothing on the first test drive, continue to drive the car and continue to document what is happening and take it back after a week or two,

Thank you! Ugh. Why don’t they check these things at the factory before sending them to dealers? And why don’t dealers check something as important as this? I was assured by the dealer that they carefully checked over the car.

I will let you know how things fare next week when I take the car in to get this checked out.

I took the car to Honda service yesterday. A tech and I went for a drive. He pretty much knew right away what was wrong with it. They ended up doing an alignment and resetting the steering sensors. The complaint I had was that I was fighting with the steering, and the car seemed jittery and jumpy especially on the highway. It drives a lot better. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the fix lasts.

It annoys me that I ended up with a brand new car that needed these important adjustments that were neglected by both the manufacturer and the dealer. The tech told me that the dealership had to eat the cost of the alignment (the car only has 1,000 miles on it). What the?? I learned things through this process. Thank you for your help!
