Default 89 Accord Heater Core Question

First, I am new here... My wife and I recently bought a 1989 Accord LXi. We were shopping for a "new" used car and she fell in love with it. Car had only 100K on it, was owned by a MATICULUS older gentelman, and came with a ton of service documentation. I am comfortable working on everything and knew that buying a 20 year old car was going to be work. The body is in great condition, and the interior is near mint. Car runs perfect, I have replaced the front and rear suspension, CVs, and anyting else that was in question, Essentially, she wants to keep this car forever.

Now the problem...

Today, the heater core decided that it didn't want to be in service anymore. I have changed more heater cores then I would like to admit, but in all of my years of hardcore DIY wrenching have I ever done one in a Honda.

I know the dash needs to come out of the car. (like most others). What do I need to Know/do as I take the dash out? The service manual that I have is NO help (Chiltons).

Any advice would be much appreciated!
I have bypassed it for now but I know she wants heat for this winter!

Thanks for the help!!!!

No Help there, I use them all the time. They have very generic info on this job.

If you purchase a factory service manual for about 40.00 you can fix your entire car and save a lot of money. I have the factory service manual for all my cars, and save a lot of time and money.
