Default 91 accord acceleration problems

Occationally when I drive, the acceleration just quits. I have to take my foot off the accelerator to get i working again, and I usually have to do it 3 or 4 times to get it right again. Sometimes i even have to pull over and restart the car to fix it. I can push the gas to the floor and the only thing that happens is the car shakes quite a bit. the engine doesn't rev hardly at all. It happens between gears. Could it be an engine problem?

Welcome to the forum. Have you checked to see if your fuel filter is good, or if the fuel pump is failing?

I haven't checked anything yet, because I don't know very much about cars, but I'm going to take it in sometime this week and I am looking for possible things to tell the mechanic to check.

Good to ask, and learn. It could also be a clogged cat. When you get a chance, purchase a service manual for your car, if you intend to keep it for a while. This will assist you with trouble shooting your car.
