Default 2004 Honda Accord V6 acceleration lag

Had a long term problem with acceleration lag on my 2004 Honda Accord V6. When I would press the accelerator there would be a slight lag and then the car would jerk forward. This was especially noticeable from a full stop, but could also be noticed during highway driving. Honda dealer could not identify problem. Finally, a severe acceleration lag caused engine warning light to come on. Engine management system identified as failing throttle position sensor. After replacement, car runs nicely again. This was a simple and relatively inexpensive fix. I had to live with the problem for a very long time until it became bad enough to signal a problem to the computer and be identified by the mechanic. If you are experiencing this type of acceleration lag I would recommend replacing the throttle position sensor and seeing if it helps. The computer will not recognize the problem until it becomes severe.
