Default 91 accord losing power and and rpms

Hello I'm new here so hello. I have a 91accord EX been having some trouble with it was hoping mayb I could get some help here. Car has been running bad usually after it has warmed up. When cold it runs just fine sometimes but sometimes not so good. After warming up is when the trouble starts. It will accelerate poorly and often I can't get the rpms up to 3500 sometimes it won't get up past 2500rpms. It don't stall or anything but looses almost all power. When it starts doing this it makes a sound like its sucking or blowing air best way for me to describe the sound is it sounds kinda like a leaky air hose not a big leak just kinda a small hissing or maybe sounds like the turbos on a deisl engine. The sound is most noticeable when the rpms start getting around 2500-3000 and the enginge starts loosing power. Its got 5speed manual tranny if I put in neutral it will wind up and rpms go up like they should and sounds normal and seems to run fine till put back in gear. The check engine light and charge light have blinked randomly since I bought the car little over year ago. I was gonna try and figure out the codes when I started having the problem.was told to unplug battery to clear them then check codes when they start flashing agin its been 2 weeks and engine lights havnt flashed. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated

I've checked all my vacume lines they all seem to be in pretty good shape also checked air intake. It only makes the hissing sound when it starts running bad. With all the valves and stuff im sure just because my vacume lines are in decent shape it could be a vacume leak somewhere besides just the hoses. I'm not much of a mechanic I've had lots of older rigs that I could usually figure out and do some wrenching on but all these vacume lines, sensors, and electronic crap is beyond mt skill level. Its starting to frustrate me. It seems to be getting worse Im laid off fir a couple months so money is tite can't afford to bring to a mechanic I can scrape up money for parts and get it done somehow but I don't have a clue to what parts I need or where to start I can't afford to be replacing parts I don't need

What about the map sensor my uncle is a mechanic he took it for a drive his daughter has same year car with similar problems but not as bad as mine and he thinks it mite be the map sensor but he's not even sure enuff thats the problem to fork out the money on it. I've asked about it on another forum and nobody been able to give me much advice but the one thing I've gotten there is that map sensors rarely go bad and that its probally not the map. Anyone got an opinion on the map sensor?

yeah you won't be able to physically see a vacuum leak unless there's a massive hole or crack. i would try this technique

Guy at auto parts store recomended that but to try with spray bottle and water he said it works bout the same but stalls out instead of engine speeding up. Tried it with the water but couldn't find anything. Was thinking bout trying that way seems like it would work better to me but the water was cheaper. Think ill try that tomorrow see if I have better luck. Thanks for the ideas I appreciate any help I can find.wish it was easier to diagnose over the interweb

i wouldn't spray water into a possible vacuum leak water could damage your engine the carb cleaner is combustable.
