Okay so im going to go ahead and matte black the hood and roof of my car. Maybe not the best of ideas but i'll be getting a new car starting senior year and id like to mess around with my baby and at least learn how to do this. Id like to know if anyone can give me steps on how to go about matte blacking her. Like sand paper all the paint off...then rust oleum? i mean...idk, pretty clueless right now

 

welcome to the forum. I picked up a Hanes accord car repair manual and in the back area there was a section of instructions to do body work, and prime. if the base primer is good, you don't have to sand past it, wet sand 200 to start then to 400 to smooth, then black prime. This will be a rough start.
