hey i got my friends 94 accord 4dr with a 97 pralude motor. the damn car wont pass smog and needs help badly. i need to upgrade to ODB2 i think, but it passed smog before.

I have a new Cat for it, The engine light is on, And it sounds like it has a govornor on it when u exceed 3500rpm.

people say throttle positoning sensor but i cant find one for a 97 pralude. its like they dont make one or it doesnt have one. help me please.

how do i check the codes and are they gonna be accurate if it has the wrong ecu? if so where can i get the code descriptions?

 

Unless you have a modified induction system, the throttle sensor is on the opposite side of your throttle hook-up, if you go to majestic honda.com and go to the 97 prelude parts, it will show you a picture of the throttle body and sensor.
Codes, if you take your car to autozone or a parts house that will do a codes check for no charge ( call around ) they will retreive the codes for you. If the the car passed smog before, it may be a minor item.
