My son has a 2000 Accord, the catalytic converter has a crack in it and failed inspection (NJ). He took the car to the mechanic and it has a california exhaust and will cost 1500.00 to fix!! is this right. Is thereany quick fix for this I only have 30 days to address this issue. Any suggestions???

welcome to the forum, Have you tried a regular muffler shop, they have generic catalitic exhaust for your state. Call them first. normal cost in Ca. for a generic is 50-100 incl installation.
I have gone to the local muffler shop and have replaced several cats and passed the ca smog not a problem.
