Hey folks, I have a question I'm wondering if anyone can offer me insight for.

My aunt has recently purchased a brand new 2018 Accord Sport. Nothing wrong with the car, but as she's "gotten to know it" she's found that the driver seat really puts her lower than she is comfortable with, and she has issues with seeing comfortably, especially when looking around to make a turn. She's ready to sell the car over the issue, so I thought I might do some research.

Are there any kits available to replace or modify the driver seat so that she can raise it higher in order to get the visibility she desires? She tried a cushion, but while it offered more height, it didn't provide the back support she also wants.

Willing to investigate all options here so I can help her make an informed choice.

welcome to the forum. has she already got the seat to its highest position with the pull up adjuster or electric seat adjust. if so, i believe there is a way to raise the seat with blocks under the seat rail to boost the height of the chair. ill see if i might be able to find a company that has these boosts. is she 5' or less ?

 

She's actually somewhere in the range of 5' 5" I believe. I think it's just that the seat is slung low enough that she doesn't feel she gets good enough visibility.

The seat is fully raised. She has tried a booster cushion which she says improves her visibility, but she doesn't care for the way it feels. If there were a way to raise the whole seat, that would be ideal.

 

i have not found a vendor that sells seat rail blocks at this time. . what i did for my ford escort wast to remove the seat, took an imprint of the back attach which i know i could heighten, took the height i needed and imprint to a machine shop and asked them to build a 1 inch block, it got me high enough to feel comfortable to see out over the steering wheel. it was a 89 escort. i did have to get extended bolts to reach properly the base attach. ill keep looking for a vendor for the extension.
