I would like to get more knowledge before I pay for the complete transmission rebuild.

Car: 1998 Honda Accord UEX VTEC (6 cylinder)

problem: (1) When first start in the morning, back up ok, shift into D4, forward move very slow, then gear 2 to 3 jerk, then seems normal (I mostly drive on highwat). This started about one month ago. I normally drive one 180 mile round trip once a week. (2) Two stop lights will not be on when press on break padal, only high mount break light works. The tail lights work. (tail/stop light in the same bulb)

The ATF level is right, the color is red, no smell.
The fuses are all good, the bulbs are all good.

What should I do now? Thanks
