Complete Bonehead Timing Belt Mistake
HI!
My 2005 Honda Accord SE 3.0L V6 is due for its second timing belt. I decided to take the job upon myself since I don't have the money to take it anywhere (thanks COVID)
I had a friend help me since my back isn't the greatest. Now here comes the bonehead part.
We got the crank pulley off, no big deal. Out with it came the woodruff key. My friend decided he'd put the engine in time since he's already sitting on the ground and I was up. He'd line the crank up and I'd make sure the cams were lined up. However, he did not put the woodruff key back in before he rotated the engine -- so he rotated the crankshaft without rotating the camshaft because the woodruff key was not installed so the crank would turn without the crankshaft gear, thus rotating the crank but not rotating the camshafts or the belt.
So the question is, how do we get the crank truly lined back up with the cams?
Thanks in advance!
