Right now, my speedo works intermitantly so I think the VSS is going out. With that, when the speedo is working, the car runs like a champ and has no lights (CEL or otherwise) on. Once the speedo stops working, is seems as if the engine starts to dog a little and after a couple of minutes, the CEL comes on, the idle speed of the engine drops and starts hunting between 300-600 rpm. Is this normal or does it indicate something else is going out? I am going to replace the VSs this weekend.
