Extended Warranty, Honda Care, 2023 Accord Sport Hybrid
2023 Honda Accord Sport Hybrid. My Wife & I are both retired and do not drive that often, plus also having a back up 2nd vehlcle.Three years old this June and only has under 7,200 miles, so on average we are driving around 2,700 miles per year. I can get the Honda care through a dealer in Folsom, Ca. 8/100,000, $100 deductible for $1,900, but then I realized in that 8 years, plus the 7,200 we've driven, that car will only have less than 29,000 at the end of 8 yrs. So would it b e foolish of us to spend that kind of money?? I really do not expect much of anything breaking down in that 28,000, if any beside just maintenance items. OPINIONS, Please.
Considering purchasing a 2023 Accord Hybrid Touring soon, I was offered the option of an extended warranty (service contract) with an additional 8 years and 100,000 miles. Pricing, according to my selling dealer, is approximately $2000, with a $100 deductible for each repair. Is this the usual cost for an eight-year Honda service contract?

Then just for the Heck of it, I called our local dealer that we bought it from NEW, here in 94533 (Shall remain nameless:-) )), to get a quote, had an ID # since I had called a year or so ago. The guy answering that line said they had another product also, not Honda Care, saying it was just as good (Suuuuuuuuuure, LOL) that would go TEN years. He quoted a price of $4,000. I then asked specifically about the Honda Care product, but he claimed that his computer only showed a 5 year plan, not eight, for $3,200 or $3,700, I can now recall. So the dealer I bought from sounds like they like to stick it up your you know where, LOL. Now how can I trust them to do any service repair work at all???!!!
