f22b1 distrbutor
 

okay so I have ran into few problems changing this part out I purchased one that was suppose to be correct ill post pic but the distributor end or camshaft end is wrong it fit in there just fine but after a week it failed ive purchased three distributors that was correct number but when it came in it was wrong I was wondering if I could take that parts on the inside of old distributor and put new parts inside old one.
update ive taking everything from the ht06 and put it in mine but it still wont start just repetitive turning over before this car just started backfiring and sputtering real bad then really bad idle then nothing

you own all the parts you purchased, you can do what ever you need to do to get your car running. i take it you bought a rebuilt distributor from a auto parts house. there have been a few members who have ended up doing the same thing you are doing now. changing/swapping a few distributor to get the correct one to run.

was suppose to be new and didn't know if it would be a big difference I searched up and down on my old distributor and found the id its rpt h360211 but cant find it anywhere

okay so ive tested the dizzy it has spark so it works what could cause my car to still not start just keeps turning over could it be timing I really don't want to tear it apart for it to be fine especially cuz of how hard it is is there a way I can check it without all that hard work

when was the last time the timing belt was changed, have you checked the timing with the crank and cam. if the belt jump a cog, the cam and crank will not be correct with the distributor.

I had the car two years never changed it tbh it never crossed my mind I have no idea how to check timing don't have a timing gun and but if ur asking if the dizzy is snug against mount yes I looked at cam shaft end I guess u would call it that inside the engine it looked fine

Checking timing would require a timing light or a dual input oscilloscope.
That is if you don't want to tear engine timing cover off.
Timing light being cheaper but not anywhere near as versatile as an oscilloscope.
But who can afford an oscilloscope?

Anyway, you know there is spark. Do you know if there is fuel? Compression?

Ik there is fuel getting to fuel rail and spitz out gas when i turn the key didnt have proper tools to gauge psi but the amount that spit out was bout 4 or 5 shots worth

it runs again was due to bad ignition timing thanks a lot acmech

good job. glad you got it running. take care of it and it will last you a long time like 350k+ miles.
