2003 Accord ex,v6

I have an annoying problem with my gas fuel door.
My release line works fine, but the door does not pop open by itself. I have to have the guy at gas station press the side of the fuel tank door, while i hold the gas door release button. Im not sure if there was a spring, or some kind of release clip that pops the door open.

Can anyone shed some light?

I went to hondaautomotiveparts.com, put your car yr and info in, and went to outer panel, their is a spring,fuel lid open pn 371884 illus#22 for your car. you can order this from mag auto parts, a member on this forum at a discount or from majestic auto parts the name above.
