Default 2009 Coupe gas cap?

Today I had a message "check fuel cap" continuously flash. Stopped and checked the cap which was tight. Dealer says he has seen the problem before and to drive the vehicle for "35" or more miles and it should go away. Opinion or suggestions? Thank you

do as the dealer suggested. cap may have been loose. If message comes up again, have the dealer fix the problem. Car too new and under warranty.

if it is not the cap and you know for sure the cap is in good condition, it could be the emissions system, or vaccum leak in a vent hose all with the fuel system.

In my case the problem went away and has not re-appeared since my initial post.
