"Headlight System Problem" - 2018 Accord Hybrid
My 2018 Accord Hybrid recently started displaying a message reading: "Headlight System Problem. Headlight Performance May Be Reduced. See Your Dealer."
The first time it appeared, I was in my garage, and the passenger side headlights were off (headlights set to auto, and it was daylight, so probably low beam). An hour later I returned from where I'd been, all the headlights were on, but the message was still there. I could "dismiss" it, but it would display when I turned the car off, and would be there when I turned the car back on.
Since that time, the headlights have continued to, so far as I can tell, work fine. But the message persists. How do I permanently turn the message off? Or do I need dealer intervention to do that?

The electronic complexity needs dealer attention. Disconnecting both battery cables (don't ground) for 30 minutes will reset some computer and other component activity, but may require resets on other devices.
I will have owned 4 Honda hybrids by years end and won't touch them on anything, even oil changes.

WOW there you go again Slapping other members in the Face, your quote "You are afraid of your cars?" There are many people in this world that don't want to touch or work on their cars its their choice (leave him alone). :-)

Believe it or not, after being fixed last year, the problem recurred this winter! Three headlight replacements since summer 2021.
The best resolution I had is a great relationship with a service advisor at my local Honda dealer, who persistently advocated for me up the line at Honda, getting this covered as a free replacement in summer 2022 and under warranty ($100 deductible I think) in early 2023. The headlight unit cost $800+ in 2021 and is now well over $900 for replacement, so having an advocate like that in my corner was a big and appreciated deal.
