Hello,

I have a 1996 Honda Accord which just now devloped a transmission whine. The whine appears only to be present in over drive (D4 - Automatic). If you are in any other gear there appears to be no noise. The whine is also only present when you are accelerating, and slowing down. The transmission shifts smoothly and no other issues. The car only has 120K on it. Anyone have any ideas?

When was your last transmission fluid change, is the fluid low perhaps. If you had your trans fluid changed and is full, then your gearsmay be, beginning to wear out. Unusual for 120k. And welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay
