Interior fabric
Hi all,
I have a 2007 Honda accord and the interior velour seats seem to be a dust and lint magnet.
Mine is picking up every single piece of lint and dust and it looks quite disgusting after a week of cleaning and I only drive my car a very short distance daily. It also appears that the fibres that make up the fabric isnt helping matters.
I cant just clean with a lint roller or vaccum, I have to use a fabric comb to clean it on every section of the seats, front, back, side pockets and all and even then it never looks 100% clean.
Apparently Honda has never had such a complaint about their velour seats and I was told perhaps its my clothes, which I take great offence to as I wear what everyone else would normally wear!
Funny we showed the Honda tech the same issue on a new car in the lot but he didnt seem interested for some reason!
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks for your help

RE: Interior fabric
Aloha eils5: Welcome to the forum, enjoy your stay. I have a 07 FIT, and black interior, collects any particle in the air. I use a shop vaccum 2x's a week, lint roller, 3 in wide soft paint brush, and a lint free damp towel to clean my seats. It is a pain and a lot of my time, but is nice when it is cleaned. I was planning to use some scotch guard spray to see if it might help keep it clean or easier to clean off and keep clean.

Hi Acmech, thanks for your reply, I appreciate it
Wow, thats alot of time invested in cleaning the interior, twice a week for it to look pristine!
I have never had a Honda which requires this much maintenance in the interior and am glad to hear I am no alone regarding this.
I appreciate your suggestions.

RE: Interior fabric
I will soon plan to put sheep skin covers on the seats, so I can stop doing the cleaning, My mom did this to her accord due to her getting up in age and I could not fly home to Hnl to clean it up often enough. Not all Honda interiors are like this, some have min amount of mx. My sons 02 civic interior is cleaned about once a month. easy
