Default Need help removing alternator

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experiance removing an alternator from an '85 Accord. I'm trying to change the alternator and can't get the old one out. I've gotten it completely unhooked but it won't clear anywhere I try. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

William

William,

Not sure if you got any response before now. I just joined the forum and ran across yours. Mine is 1990 Accord. Recently I had to take all that stuff off of mine to clear the cross member to lower the engine in order to replace the harmonic balancer. I had to take the alternator bracket off the engine in order for it to clear. I don't think you should have had to do that, however. It should merely pull straight up from the engine mount clearing the radiator.

Let me know if you had any luck prior to this and how you did it.

Scott
