Welcome to the forum. I would suggest you look at the 98-01 accord recall on the transmission. Since you are a new member of this forum. I would tell you not to buy any honda accord in the above years. Not all are bad, but many have had tranny problems, Honda has extended the warranty of the car 5-7 years and 100k even if you did not purchase the warranty. I have a friend now that has a 2000 accord ex v-6 and her tranny has no problems but it is on a short line, it may give out soon. If you can find another year newer, it would be better. Ask the ower if the trans has been worked on or replaced. Google 01 accord recall, or 01 accord tranmission problems. I would not give 8000 for the car, go to nada and put in all the info and see what the trade in price is, then the private party price, then split it in half and offer that amount, about 6k. ( My offer ) or less. I want to save for the 2400 trans repair.
