I wrote to you guys a few days ago that my 1984 Honda Accord with automatic transmission would not shift out of 1st gear. Well, today I drove it to a shop (going about 20 miles per hour) it took me about 45 minutes. The mechanic told me he had no clue as to what was wrong. As I was driving home, about half way home the car all the suddened shifted out of first and began going fine. The rest of the way home it shifted shifted fine! Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sounds like a shift solenoid let loose,I would get a trans fluid change,that will clear out most contaminants and shift smoother.Good luck,Bobby
