I have a 01 civic, currently having car troubles! There is smoke and black powder like substance coming out of the muffler when reving. The car also idols funny but doesn't over heat. If anyone has had this problem or know what could be the problem I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanx

 

welcome to the forum. when my civic idles funny, i checked the spark plugs, found one with the porceline damaged and moving up and down the electrode. also a weak coil plug line. yours may be something else.

 

what color is the smoke ??? it could be a clogged cat converter or possibly damaged oil rings burning oil. do you have to constantly add oil ???
