So I pulled in to gas up a short while ago, pulled on the gas release latch, and nothing happened. I did everything I could think of, short of breaking out a pry bar, but could not get the gas lid to pop open. Any suggestions on how to break in? I think I have enough gas to get to a gas station, but not much more! Thanks in advance for any help!

 

Found this video. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm hopeful.

 

this is also a major issue with the 01-05 civic mainly the latch inside the push lever breaks. you can do that in the video alsu you can pull back the carpet on the fender well and un-latch the door poper its a twist lock. if it is the latch inside the car thats broken you can give this a try http://www.fueldoorfix.com/

 

The You Tube video I posted worked. It's still broken, but I can get in with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Will add a cord, like the guy in the video did, before my next fill up.
