I just got a 08 Civic LX Coupe. I have read these problems before but it shakes and rattles when I shift it into reverse when its cold. I read somewhere it could be the Engine Mounts. I took it to Jack Williams and they said they were up and down the car with a light and couldn't find anything wrong. They suggested I take it to a Honda dealer which I have an appt Tues @ 10. Anyone have any idea what could be going on? I don't want to pay a fortune for this.

If its really cold it will do it in all 3. Its its not bad out only when in reverse and park

 

I have an lx 07, it does the same thing when i first turn on the car. It doesnt stop until the car warms up. With mine it does it when idling and initial take off, but its nothing you should worry about. Its just because of the cold. If anything just tighten the engine mounts, but other than that you should be fine bro.

 

there rubber so they'll get stiffer in cold weather. stiffer mounts will actually give you better performance some people buy stiffer mounts because of this reason.
