1991 Honda Civic. Tune Up Alternator
Hello. I have a 1991 Honda Civic. The spark plug blew out while on Freeway. Car sat for a couple of months with dead batter. I jumped to get on tow truck. Toyoexus of Denver put in new spark plugs and wires. Now they are saying the alternator needs replaced and the car cannot even start without new alternator. Is this right? The alternator was working fine before I brought it in for the tune up with new plugs and wires. Labor/Parts Taxes for the new tuneup was $247. They want $130 for new alternator and $110 for labor. The car has 115K miles. Is all this worth fixing? Broke in Denver.

Im just curious why you let it sit for so long then went through the trouble of towing it to a non honda dealership, when the work that was done to it you could have easily done yourself. If you are not good with tools thats cool. Im just asking.
