2002 Honda Civic EX, manual, recently had timing belt/water pump replaced...
Hello all, I'm hoping for some advice. I recently had my timing belt and water pump and tensioners replaced on my 2002 Honda Civic EX manual sedan (it's at right around 90k miles) as part of the regular scheduled maintenance. The shop who did the work are reputable and I've had them work on my last Honda a few times with no issues. They only use OEM parts, etc. I've owned the car for about 13,000 miles and have never seen the engine light come on. After I got it back from the shop, the light came on. I noticed the acceleration hesitating a bit. I took it back in and they got the error codes from the car and it was telling them there was a low voltage issue. They checked my battery and said it's fine and they didn't know why it was doing what it was doing. They reset it so the light went off, and I took it home. Everything was fine for a week. Now, the light came back on. I can't tell if the acceleration is still hesitating or not, but it doesn't really seem like it, but I might have felt just a tiny bit of it this morning. Any idea on what the problem might be? They insisted that it's not a timing issue and that I'm in no danger of damaging the vehicle by driving it as is. I can take it back to them again, but thought it might be better to get a second opinion. Thanks for your time, and let me know if I can provide any other details to help you help me!
