93 civic speaker install help needed
Hello, I have a set of 6 1/2" Alpine component speakers that i want to put in the doors of a 93 civic Dx hatchback. Any body have experience or insight?
I'd rather put them in the back but my car doesn't seem to have ports for rear speakers, although there is a pane that pops out. Can I get something somewhere to put them in the back?

If your speakers are not to deep, you might be able to install them. take the door panel off and check to see if they have proper clearence. Also if you go to crutchfield, they sometimes have diagrams for speaker installation. Or go to autozone.com and there may be info on speaker installation. and wire diagram.

Most of the older civic Hatches have only the speaker mounts up front in the doors and they do hold 6.5" speakers quite well. As far as installing speakers in the back sometimes there might be a factory option for that or if I read yours correctly you have punch outs in the back already just with out speakers. Measure out punch out the holes and install the speakers. You may need to run a set of wires to the back to hook them up. Sometimes you get lucky and there are factory wires already there. Other than that you may need to come up with something custom to install those speakers in the rear. Crutchfield probably does not carry anything for a car that old but check ebay, craigs list etc. Or build something yourself if you have that gift.
Hope that helps
