Default 94 Del Sol - 96 1.6 Motor issues

First, let me go ahead and say, I very NEW to the Honda scene, and these are NOT the 90-96 300Z's that I know and love... I picked up this Del Sol with a motor swap with a 96 1.6 sohc in it as an extra car, plus I have always loved the body style to use as my daily driver. SO, today I was rolling down the interstate at my normal driving speed, (75-95) depending on traffic in South Carolina. On the way home I hit a traffic jam, and noticed my temp gauge creeping up to no-no spot,, so I stopped before it hit the 3/4 point (if my gauge was working correctly). I let it set and filled it up, as the coolant was low and drove the remaining 2 mile home. Once in the light of the garage, and spot lights, I noticed steam rolling out from the right topside of the motor (directly under the distributor cap) (Please keep in mind this is my first Honda)... Does this sound like it is the head gasket?? if so, what price range will that cost?? Is it an easy DIY deal?? or would I be better off just dropping $1500 or so in a different and quicker motor (if that is possible for that price range),,, Like I stated above,,, I am new to the Honda scene. So any advice at all would be welcomed.. Thanks.
