Hello everybody, I have a 98 Honda civic si (Canadian) and it recently developed rodknock. Unfortunately I can not afford a new or rebuilt engine. Recently a friend totaled his Toyota Celica with a 1ZZ-FE and he is offering his engine and anything else. Is their a chance this engine could work as a swap? And if so how much work and modifications would be involved? Thanks

 

Welcome in,well I'm sure it can be done with headaches of course,first off see if you can find a harnes that will mate a Honda and Toyota,even then you would have to use the Toy computer.check on line to see if it has ever been done. I have seen V8 engines in Hondas before at car shows so it's possible,but it may take more money than you a willing to spend on the swap.check the salvage yards too.
