Default Auto transmission problem

My Honda Civic , auto transmission, is having some transmission problems. When I am starting to move from zero speed, pressing the gas, it is reving up, making a whoosh sound and it moves very slowly. It also feels that it is slipping the gear. The symptom is less when I am starting the car in low gear. Once it reaches certain speed, it runs smooth. It is only when you start. On uphill slopes, the problem is severe. My engine light was on. The Autozone diag tool said that the input shaft speed sensor is bad.

Any idea on what is wrong ?

thanks

Check your transmission fluid. Top off if necessary. You may even want to consider having it flushed out with fresh transmission fluid as well. If that doesn't solve your problem you may want to try replacing that sensor just because its that last thing before we say get a new transmission.
