Question Broken WindShield Wipers

I left my wipers on when I turned off the car. The next morning it was freezing outside and the wipers were frozen to the windshield/ice. I turned on the car and then they broke. Now they don't work. I can hear the motor that powers them working, but they aren't moving at all. Any way I can fix this? I can't really drive w/o them

thanks,

Megafast13

welcome to the forum. can you check to see if the wiper arm connecting rods are disconnected, you will have to take the "cowl" off to view. If you go to autozone.com, or to hondaautomotiveparts.com, you can navigate your way to the wiper blades and see the mechanical workings of the wiper to connecting rods to the motor. If the motor is working, the rods may have disconnected or the spline to the wiper arm is stipped, or the arm at the motor came off. at autozone.com the repair info goes only up to a 94 accord, but the information is there as to operations and diagrams to help learn.

Living in the North East this happens all the time. The nuts that hold your wiper arms to the transmissions loosened up. You need to shut off your wipers. remove the nuts. Put the arms back in the park position get a little lock-tite and put the nuts back on tighten them up good. The lock-tite should help prevent it from happening again.

Hey Guys, thanks for all of the help.

I took the "cowl" cover and wiper blades off and took a look at it. The rod/arm the snaps onto the actual spinning motor popped off. I simply had to pop it back on.

It took a while to get the wiper blades back on and perfectly aligned w/the motor and windshield. But they are perfect now.

Thanks again for all of the help!

I came to you guys and didn't have to spend a nickel
