Default Bypassing AC compressor

Long story short AC compressor started smoking and squeaking. I need to temporarily bypass the AC so I can still drive to work. I'm not around my car right now, but I need to know if I can pickup an alternator-only belt. Will this work? If I don't get a response I guess I'll have to wait another 2day till I can take a look for myself.

Car is a 2001 civic DX.

the belt of the AC compressor and alternator are 2 seperate belts.. you can always just take the AC belt off and have no problems

Sorry but there not separate belts. I found the belt that should work, its a 33.8" belt. Funny thing is that it will take a week to get here. Still looking for a quick solution.
