Default Civic VX won't start after sitting 8 months???

Before sitting the car ran perfectly fine. Now that I want to sell it will not start. It cranks but will not run. I had the battery charged and that didn't get it to start. Could the fuel really deteriorate that fast and cause it not to start?

What can I try??

Thanks

Today's gas is really crappy. It could possibly cause your car not to start. Especially if it has ethanol mixed in. Which I know here in NY gas is 10% ethanol which clogs up fuel pumps and filters faster than usual.

I would try using dry gas, or even a fuel injector cleaner like the Cheveron Techron or Lucas Tune Up in a Bottle. Also I would make sure its not a spark issue buy using starting fluid (ether) and spraying into the intake.

After you get your car going I would run some more injector fuel system treatment in the tank as well as some high test gas.

after 60 days gas turns to varnish after 6 months it loses octaine witch will clog filters and fuel injectors also if you did not fill the tank moisture will build causing water to get in the gas rendering it useless .all you had to do was fill it up and put gas stabilizer in it and it would have lasted a year.i use sta-bill it removes water and has injector cleaner its good stuff.
