Hi, I don't know very much but I do know it sounds like your transmission is not getting any tranny fluid or whatever manuel tranny's use. Whatever pumps the fluid to your gear system does not seem to be working. I know that grinding gears don't have fluid. Matbe you should have it serviced. When the pan is pulled you will find metal in it from your gears grinding. The teeth on the gears are being worn away and they have to have teeth on them to work. When you push in the clutch it disengages
the teeth of the gears inside the tranny, you put the car in a gear and release the clutch and the teeth on that gear engages to the teeth on gears inside your gear box(tranny). Your stick will go into gear when your car is off because your drive train is not turning the drives or gears in your gear box. Something like that, like I said I
don't know alot nor the actually terms but I am positive I'm 90% accurate on this post. FLUID, GEAR BOX FLUID!!

welcome to the forum. have you checked the fluid level of the salve cylinder that works the clutch? there is no pan on a standard shift transmission.
