help with battery cable needed
When I got my 01 civic , the positive battery terminal was so corroded that I had to cut the end of the cable off and put another terminal on.
This left the cable to where it has just and I mean just barely fits over the top post and that is with a great struggle.
I want to make disconnecting it for cleaning/other reasons not such an aggravating experience.
Is there such thing as splicing a battery cable to extend it some without having to replace the whole positive cable with a new one? I would have a very very hard time doing so, where as working from just leaning over it would be much better for me.
Thanks,
Doc

Welcome to the forum. Yes you can but not recommended. Get the equal or better extension. Cut your cable, cut off approx 1in of insulation on both the cut cable and the splice you will add in and solder both ends together. Then get good 3m electrical tape and cover the open splice in areas good. If you can intertwine the cable ends into each other it will be better for connection.
