Honda del sol questuion

Hello all,

I am the owner of a del sol from 97 with a D16Y8 engine.

My issue is:

- The ECU is cutting my fuel injection at around 6500 rpm (not at 7200 at it should be)
I have checked the ECU errors and I didn't find any error...
I have checked all the plugs and hoses from the engine and nothing wrong.

Can anybody help me regarding this issue?

Thanks.

How do you know it's the ECU,it could be bad injectors or fuel pump going bad or perhaps a dirty throttle body. Did you reciently install a chip or reprogram the ECU?

the injectors wore cleaned with the throttle body 2 months ago.

And I did not install a chip or a new ECU -- it will be done in the future(:)).

Can it be from the quality of the gasoline?

LE. Can the Chip-ed ECU damage something in the engine?

It's possible that you used E-85 or possibly got water in the fuel. A chip will not harm an engine but a cheep one could cause trans. problems.Check this site out ,it may help .http://www.2carpros.com/articles/eng...-or-runs-rough

Changed the gas... Same issue! at around 6800rpm it cuts my fuel.

Should I try oder spark plugs?
Or should I look at the distributor?

thanks.

LE. the chip wont come in the near future (my ecu is OBD 2 :( )

you should go to mechanic...........

Problem solved... It is the instrument cluster! The engine reaches the 7200 rpm but the cluster does not show the correct rpm.

Thanks all!
