Default How do I tell if my 98 civic ex has an AT engine or an MT engine?

Hi, Im trying to find an engine for my 98 Honda Civic. I have searched car-part.com for the engine, but it gives me 2 options for my VIN number.... AT and MT. I dont know which my civic is. Can anyone tell me?

Also what are some other sites I can also search for an engine by region? Thanks for any help offered.

if you are refering to your own car, does it have a total of 3 pedals = clutch, brake, gas a standard, or 2 pedals brake, gas. If you are asking which type of engine to get, same generation engine. wikipedia will give you a better breakdown of engines to use in your car. and welcome to the forum. I'm having a little difficulty as to what you might be asking. try to get the same kind of engine you currently have. the type is on your engine block stamped, front looking down left side of the block under the head.
