How to start with stock b16 civic 1997?
Hello mates,i am sorry if my question is stupid..but i bought my civic two months ago and i don`t know how to start in drag race i meanin what RPMs?There are a lot of opinions for example,to start in v-tec (in 6 to 6-500 rpms) orto start at 5000 rpms because in the first way you are going to spin a lot..So which way is better ? Thanks

welcome mate: enjoy your stay. my personal racing for a honda that does not have 300+ horsepower would be to bring the rpm's up to the amount that does not bog the engine down when you pop your clutch, but still not spin up your tires. spinning up the tires is loosing precious time. If the rails ( sling shot ) could get off the line without burning up all that rubber, I beleive it could get down the quarter mile faster. (personal opinion)

You'll want to rev the engine to the most rpm you can have before getting wheel spin... different cars on different tires react, you guessed it... differently. This way you ensure you get the most power to the ground. You can launch a skyline at over 6k rpm, but i wouldnt recommend it with a FWD... careful not to burn your clutch >.<
