Default I need help with belt tensions

Ok i own a 2000 honda civic si and just replaced the power steering belt and a/c belt. the alternator belt needs to be replaced but oreillys and autozone sold me the wrong ones. when i replaced the power steering and a/c belts i tensioned them enough to have a little give but not very much at all and the alternator belt had a slight give to it as well. When i started the car the belts squeeled and then when i turned the a/c on the belts squeeled some more. While i'm driving the belts squeeled at random times too. would this be because the belts aren't tensioned right or because the alternator belt needs to be replaced?
