got a jdm b16a swap in a 92 civic hatch,
she has a little problem. for about 3 days while going down the road i would hit the gas and the engine would bog down then come back, found that problem and fixed it. now that thats fixed i wake up this morning go to crank the car it fired right up and cut off, did that about 3 times and the 4th just held the gas so it would stay cranked. drove it up the road bout 1/4mile and noticed it was smoking, brought it back home and now its doing the same thing again. im thinking it could be the head gasket or fuel pump/ fuel filter but im not really sure on that. IS THE ANYONE THAT COULD SUGGEST SOMETHING OR THAT MIGHT KNOW THE PROBLEM?

and remember this it not a domestic engine it was shipped from japan its out of a 93-95 civic del sol SIR

 

if its blue smoke, you're burning oil, if its white you're burning coolant, i just had the same problem with mine but i was running 14 psi boost, if it is your headgasket, i would upgrade to a greddy 2 mm metal headgasket if you plan on throwing on a turbo, also check your compression to make sure the rings didn't let go, if you have any other questions let me know
