There is a company out of New York: JDM NewYork. It buys Transmissions and Engines with about 50,000 to 60.000 miles on them. These engines and transmissions come out of Japan. Has anyone made such a purchase from this company to replace engine or transmission in 2001 to 2005 civic? The reason I ask is to make sure the part I order is compatible with my year-model. Specifically, I am replacing a BMXA transmission. The one the company has is a SLXA model. Are these interchangable?

 

welcome to the forum. the slxa japan transmission is 4 speed, and will need the transmission range shift and cable that goes with that trans (usually cut off ) the bmxa is a us/can transmission.. it is compatible except the transmission shift and cable. i would suggest looking in ebay for the same trans, no mods needed. engines and trans from japan are in good condition, but not same as North American.
