Thumbs up more power!!

i have a 1984 honda civic 1.5 hb and ive been told that it doesnt have alot of power compared to a newer civic with the same motor, only a few years newer. wat are some cheap and simple changes i can make to the engine intake or anything else. im not very interested in cold air intake because of the cost but that has crossed my mind. thanks for your time

one thing you could do is gasket match the intake and exhaust ports. to do this you simply line your gaskets on the head and the intake and mark it with a sharpie or something and then CAREFULLY use a bit to shave away the metal. you dont have to go real deep into the ports just a little. this will open you ports and allow for better flow. cheap but you should be careful, if you have an exra head or intake i would practice on it first. advance timiing.
