Default Oil leak super bad on 94 civic coupe, d16y8

I had bought a car yesterday, drove it about 200 miles knowing there was a small oil leak, turns out while driving it got a lot worse. My windshield driver side window, and the whole driver side of the engine bay was caked in oil and i had to fill up about 2.5 quarts. It drips from the front when it’s stopped, but is likely coming from somewhere else. The guy i bought it from said he replaced all gaskets, but where should i look?? I can show pictures if could help. Car seems to run decent other than that, and a kinda bad idle though. No timing cover on the top and the belt is a little bit tight.

a bit late but ì know these usually leak from the valve cover pretty bad. you could clean all the old oil off with a degreaser, let it run, and inspect where it could be leaking from.

if that doesn't work you could clean with a degreaser, mix an engine oil leak detection dye with the oil. you'd have to inspect the motor with a UV light until you see dye coming out of a gasket/seal. check the valve cover, dipstick seal, head gasket, timing cover, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, etc.

It ended up being the valve cover gasket, previous owner stripped 4 bolts for it and i rethreaded them all. Then fixed an idle issue and the car started knocking so i blew it up.

Sadly, i redlined it for 40 seconds straight, compression was horrible and wouldn’t go past 6k even in neutral, vtec worked though, car started knocking horribly bad and i knew the engine was already gone. I have a video of the rod flying out of my block lol
