I have a 2004 Honda Civic LX. I turned my car and made it not even a mile down the road when the battery light flicked on. Then it turned off and the check engine light and key light on the dash came on. Once that happened it felt like the car went into limp mode. The RPM gauge, temp gauge and the light that shows the car is in drive all went out. The car will not really accelerate much. When you put it into drive it slams. It idles extremely hard. Not sure what is going on. Looked online and what it could possibly be and it said to check the alternator and that it could be the ECM. We check the alternator to find that the bolt had broke so we replaced it and it is still doing the same thing. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on with my car??????

 

Go to auto Zone and have a load test on your alt/batter/starter.also pull codes.

as said before you need to get the codes checked there easily obtainable for a reason. my guess would be your TPS sensor went bad its a common problem with this year car.this particular sensor is a pain in the *** to get to but if your mechanically inclined you can replace it yourself for cheap. only use oem parts which i believe is DENSO.
