Raido locks up

Default Raido locks up

I'm looking for some help. My raido on a 2001 civic locks up in the on mode.you can't adjust it at all,if you turn off the car the raido stays on and i have to unhook the battery..What is wrong !!! Thanks

Welcome to the forum,You might try using the radio code,it should be on the door of your glove box if not try the fuse box lid under the hood,and if not there get the VIN and call the Honda dealer service dept. and they can look it up,good luck,Bobby

I'm not trying to reset the raido, it just wont shutoff.. You cant do anything, adjust the volume , change stations , nothing.. I have to undo the battery to turn it off.. Something is wrong

Somtimes they lose the code much as keyless fobs do and by reprogramming electronics they usually correct the problem ,Just try it ,can't hurt.

All i can say is it has to be in the radio,a switch may have gone bad,you don't have to disconnectthe battery to shut it off, just pull the fuse until you can get it to a stereo shop.Sorry I couldn't be more help.
